Getting to Know You....

Getting to know all....about you!

Well, in this case, you're getting to know me! I was tagged this afternoon by one of my BlogHer roommates, Shannon from Baby Shmizz, and thought that it'd be a great opportunity for you all to get to know a little bit about me!

I'm going to break the rules a little bit and not choose a few people to tag and circulate the survey through their blogs, though. I want to take it as an opportunity for you to learn about me!

Talk-To-Me Tuesday: Vistaprint Calendars

Valentine ’s Day gift ideas! Get your other half something they’ll love.

Valentine’s Day is the day of the year all couples look forward to. A romantic dinner is almost compulsory, as is the exchange of heartfelt gifts. But what gift should you give? Flowers? Too cliché. Chocolates? Even more so! Balancing originality with sentimentality is a tricky task, but hopefully some of these suggestions will help:

Chocolate flowers:

Cliché plus cliché it seems, somehow equals a quirky and original gift. Handmade chocolate from a local chocolatier presented in an unusual shape (something romantic, preferably!) will be well received by even the most reluctant partner.

Personalised calendar:

This may sound like a strange suggestion, but a personalised calendar with photographs from special days you and your partner have shared combines sentimentality with practicality. This gift will keep on giving, as well, as it will be seen on a daily basis by you and your partner. Important occasions like birthdays, Valentine’s Day, and (you guessed it) anniversaries can also be included on the calendar.

A weekend retreat:

Sometimes escaping the hustle and bustle of life with your partner is exactly what the doctor ordered. With the costs of travel falling, a weekend away around Valentine’s Day can be the perfect gift. Why not consider something unusual like a white water rafting weekend, or a wine-tasting weekend spent at a vineyard?

Even with gifts, it’s important to remember that the main purpose of Valentine’s Day is to show your partner what they mean to you, so don’t worry too much if you can’t find the perfect gift! A heartfelt hug will send the message just as well :)

Emmy Given Wednesday: Brainstorming and GBK

Welcome to Emmy Given Wednesday!

The topic today is part brainstorming, part GBK.

What's GBK you ask? Well...only the premiere event host in Hollywood! GBK Productions is where it's at in terms of gifting suites, fundraising events, and provides only the best to the best...including Robin Williams, Pierce Brosnan, Tina Fey, Hillary Swank, Magic Johnson and Terry O'Quinn (gotta have a LOST shout out!! Thrilled about that!)

When I found out that one of The Artisan Group's swag bags would be going to Mr. Keilly himself, I knew that I had to create something stunning and custom for him, and something extra sweet for his adorable little girl.

I've started scouting for papers that are trendy, masculine...with a slight antique edge to them, with great textures and patterns that Gavin will appreciate. So far....

I'd really like to add in a wood grain paper...made of actual pulp or bark itself...I think that would just throw this collection over the edge. And of course, it will be monogrammed in Cocoa ink. Hmm...maybe something with a suede look...or feel even.

What do you think?

Stay tuned for more Emmy's news coming on Friday about our May 11th Twitter Party!
