Gifts for Her on #Etsy #christmas #giftideas #giftsforher

Have a lovely lady on your gift giving list this year? Here are five gifts for her, all found on Etsy, that are beautiful and sure to inspire a kiss under the mistletoe!

Clockwise from top right...

Mala's are some of my absolute most favorite things on the planet, and this one from Tellurus is stunning. Created out of rosewood, aqua and coral, it features a beautiful pink tassel and sterling silver accents.

While I have never been a watch wearer, I really love this minimalist white women's wristwatch from Liuwa. It's flexible white silicone, and has great gold accents.

If your lovely lady is a mom, you know that her children are her entire world and that she likely loves them to the moon and back. This rose gold heart and moon bracelet from Else Designs is a sweet sentiment to give.

You can never go wrong with a clutch or handbag...never ever ever ever. I am in love with this one fro gmaloudesigns!

And finally, a new iPhone case. These have come a long way from the standard covers and can be personalized so many times over. I love ones that have feminine touches and textural elements, like this floral geometric iPhone case from Idea Case.

Whatever you give, make sure it is from the heart! And...there's absolutely nothing wrong with tucking yourself something under the Christmas Tree! I always do, and it's usually something sparkly!

Clay Feather Mobiles on Etsy #homedecor

This Spring, I was inspired to make a really gorgeous white and paint dipped clay feather mobile for our nursery and when I started...I couldn't stop.

Mobiles are now a fixture in my Etsy shop and have been getting a crazy amount of notice on Etsy and beyond!

I love them because they are so natural, yet versatile. No nursery? No worries!

These mobiles, all made to order by hand, are great for really any room and don't necessarily have to be hung from the ceiling. Consider a wall that is seemingly too narrow for a painting or photograph; what would you put there to spruce up your space?

Creating a dreamy master bedroom escape, but have two awkwardly positioned windows? Put a wall hanging mobile between them!

Mobiles are available in really any motif. I've done starfish and beach inspired, color themes with sculpted spheres, flowers, and rain drops. The possibilities are endless!

Celebrating 3 Years #etsy #handmade

Earlier this year, I celebrated 3 years on Etsy.

It seriously seemed kind of crazy to me, but then I thought about it and it sounded just about right. I opened my Etsy shop shortly after opening my business and my how it has grown! From handmade paper party supplies to paintings and now sculpted home has followed a path that I could never have ever imagined for it.

Let's keep the celebration going this summer! Scoop up ornaments for Christmas, sculpted home decor, get some pre-Christmas shopping done....and enjoy an additional 20% off already marked down prices on the 2013 collection!

Baily Belle: Jewelry, Scarves and Vintage Wares #giveaway #sponsor

I was introduced to Baily Belle on Twitter in 2011 when she had bravely entered and became a finalist in the Closetista challenge. I scooped up one of her handmade rosette fabric rings and started my collection.

My profile photo over there on the right? Necklace by Baily Belle.
The ring I wear every day to remind me of my commitment to myself? Baily Belle.
The jade earrings I gave to my mom for her 60th birthday? Baily Belle yet again!

Noticing a trend?

There's one more thing I haven't told you. Baily Belle made my hospital bag, and its freaking glorious.

Vanessa Baily has become a great friend of mine, and I love shopping at Baily Belle as often as I can. She's made so many things for me from cup cozies to business card holders. We've featured her at BlogHer, and I've happily introduced her to just about every woman I know.

So...what has she put into the Mom & Baby Giveaway {which, by the way...we are only DAYS AWAY from launching!!}? A cream lace clutch, perfect for a much needed date night out, summer weddings, bridal showers, baby showers and pretty much every thing you could need a pretty little clutch for!

Whether you need a new scarf, handmade clutch, a piece of jewelry for your collection, or a custom piece with a vintage vibe, check out Baily Belle!

Sweet Whimsy Designs: Handpainted Peg Dolls and Nursery Decor #giveaway #sponsor

I'm not even sure how I stumbled across Sweet Whimsy Designs to be honest, but I have been following the amazing artwork of Leandra Sweet for a while now and have been so incredibly impressed with her attention to detail and the care that she puts in to every single set of peg dolls that I knew I needed her to create something amazing for our nursery.

We started talking early this year about my nursery plans, which have all been inspired by Where The Wild Things Are. I love the imagery in the book, and when Leandra said that she had been wanting to play with nesting dolls for a while now, everything fell into place.

Leandra took such a simple, raw idea and turned it into something incredible. Words cannot fully express just how much my husband and I love our Where The Wild Things Are nesting dolls. I am simply amazed by the amount of detail on them, and again, the care that Leandra took when creating them.

She even included a Max peg doll for Big Brother Owen in the package, which he adores and plays with all the time. Such a sweet sentiment, and so incredibly thoughtful of her!

So, what is in the Mom & Baby Giveaway from Sweet Whimsy Designs? A full set of ninja pegdolls!

Have an idea for a set of pegdolls or nesting dolls? Contact Sweet Whimsy Designs and I promise you, Leandra will take your simple ideas and create a masterpiece that will be treasured for years.

Mompreneur Monday: Genevieve and Lucy

Happy Monday! I have a lovely mompreneur to introduce you to today, Lisa from Genevieve and Lucy.

I met Lisa a while back during #mombizmondays and she is just a delight!! Read more about why she does what she does, and what she hopes to teach her children in being a mompreneur.

What do you do?

I help people connect and share good news by designing one of a kind stationery for their most special occasions. I do this because I have always loved occasions like weddings and the arrival of new babies. I love being able to help set the tone & personality of these special events and help them share their joy with the world.

How do you balance that with being a Mom?

Balancing this with being a Mom has been a real challenge. And making it even more difficult was working a full-time day job at the same time. The best I could do was try and schedule my time well. Work my full time day job. Fit in some of my business during my lunch hour. And then fitting in more when the kids went to bed and on weekends. I even used my vacation days for working on my business. I am now in the midst of a whole new balancing act. Having recently been laid off I am learning to reschedule my time and find a new balance. After all, this lay off could be a blessing in disguise. I will have more time to work on my business and balance that with my family.

What do you hope to teach your children in being a Mompreneur?

I hope being a Momprenuer will teach my children they can do anything as long as they work hard at what they love. My 8 year old daughter already talks about making and selling her work online. I think she is already a budding entrepreneur!

Celeb{rate} Tuesday: Queen of Queens

We all loved her as Doug Heffernan's wife on the King of Queens...the sassy mama from the Bronx.

In real life, Leah Remini has a super chic and classy style - one that I completely adore and am excited to have designed for!

A sculpted pansy, that is then handpainted with acrylics and hung on a silver metal bangle bracelet with a silver eye pin.

So beautiful, and simple! I think it will match her style rather beautifully!

Special Post: The Value of Art

You may have noticed some changes in the shop pieces, and new prices.

Custom miniature triptych

I've been doing lots of research, and mostly listening to my heart.

I am an artist.

Every item that I put into my shop is one that I have created with my own two hands. It is one that only my brain can process...the brushstrokes are ones that only my hands can do.

Pearl and black dahlia rings, handsculpted
My designs are my own; they are not copied or modeled off of anyone else work. If a photograph is used for reference, it is one that I took (like for the skyscape journal below)

Monogrammed and handpainted skyscape journal
I've begun to realize the value of art...the value of myself as an artist, and the four amazing years that I spent in the sculpture and painting studios during my time at Wilfrid Laurier University.

12x12 abstract painting

Art is such an amazingly personal thing, and for's something that I pour every ounce of myself into. The process is one of beautiful evolution for me, and I am so blessed to be able to have the opportunity to share that with you.

I am an artist, and I truly truly hope that you love what I do as much as I love doing it.

BlogHer Sponsor Love: Atutudes Handmade Tutus

Add a touch of shimmer and shine to your summer whites and blues with the new {and oh so fabulous} handmade floral rosette bib necklaces by Atutudes!

Ms. Kristal has been busily dreaming up gorgeous combinations of shimmery material, handling the edges and curves with precision to create beautiful works of art to adorn your neck and spruce up your every day.

Add a little sparkle to the centre, and the necklaces go from day to night in a snap! Pair it with a little black dress and BAM!

These beauties would be perfect for a little party I know going on...called Sparklecorn. Have you heard of it? Have you planned your outfit? Do you know what bling you're wearing? Look no further!

Sponsor Love: Love Me Knott

Sometimes that perfect summer dress needs a pop…a pop of purple

Amanda from Love Me Knott has created the perfect purple dragon vein agate piece that will surely get you noticed at your next big event.

Chic and feminine, the purple is a lovely shade…almost muted with a grey undertone, and perfectly paired with white stones and intricate silver work.

The eye-catching pendant features a gorgeous veining, named the Dragon Vein, and picks up on the various undertones in the piece. Oranges….grey…a slight olive tone. It really is the perfect piece for any wardrobe.

Dress it down with a white t-shirt and jeans, or make a statement with a black cocktail dress and big sparkly heels!

Mompreneur Monday: BailyBelle has a new look!

Remember that little shop I introduced you to earlier in the year, BailyBelle? Well...Ms. Vanessa has been working incredibly hard on her new website and I want to share it with you!!

The new BailyBelle features the same infinity scarves that I've fallen in love with, but also an incredibly celebrity collection, and unique eco-friendly tote bags that are too adorable not to share!

Vanessa has designed custom pieces for Lauren Conrad, Tenley Molzahn, Zooey Deschanel and Kim Kardashian! Pretty amazing if you ask me!

She's even been taking some of her older pieces, tearing them apart, and creating something totally new from them. I think it's so incredibly refreshing to meet an artist who has vision, and isn't afraid to look at something they've done, appreciate it for what it is, and turn it into something fantastic and new.

I proudly own four rings, an infinity scarf, am getting a custom business card holder made for my trip to BlogHer and own this amazing piece!

The photo does not do the necklace justice. It is so incredibly awesome, I just adore it!! It packs such an amazing punch, and is a real coversation starter.

Don't own a piece of BailyBelle yet? Hop on over to her Etsy shop...get 10% off with code BLOGHER

Wedding Wednesday: Custom Guest Books

Brides everywhere are customizing every aspect of their wedding, and with good cause! It's your day to shine, and to show everyone who you are...right down to your guest book!

Some are going with amazingly fun photo booths for their guests to get a copy and to sign a copy fort he guest book; others are going with traditional photo albums.

I've been asked what I would do for a guest book, and it's so incredibly simple....paint, paint, paint!

custom painted journals with ribbons and skeleton keys
Painting a journal and embellishing it with ribbons and skeleton keys is perfect for a rustic, vintage glam type wedding, whereas....

custom handpainted journal with sculpted pansy embellishment
adding a sculpted flower would be perfect for a spring, garden wedding!

The journals translate so incredibly well as a guest book with approximately 100 unlined pages for guests to write sweet notes on, a sturdy coil binding and a whimsical embellishment to go with the theme and tone for your day. They can be painted in any colour combination in either a painterly or linear style, to become a natural element of your wedding.

A book to cherish for a lifetime that you will love reading, over and over again!
