Cleo Madison Clothing Review

When Cleo Madison contacted me over the summer about doing a collaboration of some sort, I immediately wanted to get them involved in our Acts of Kindness campaign. The weather, however, had other plans and was a sweltering 34C on September 21st, making it near impossible to wear the gorgeous ruby red Lucy top that they sent me.

Now that the weather has changed to cooler temperatures, this long sleeved, super soft shirt is perfect.

It hangs so beautifully on the body! I was happy that it hugged my arms and chest, but gently floated away from my tummy...an area that alot of moms struggle with after having a baby or two. I struggle so much with my ever changing body, that I often just don't shop for myself. Putting a quality piece of clothing on your body that fits you perfectly in all the right places will change how you view yourself in the mirror (for the better!)

So far, I've worn it to teach meditation classes, to business meetings and on a date-night with my husband. It is so versatile! It easily goes from the yoga studio with a pair of athletic leggings, to an evening out with accessories and heels. The colour is perfect for every season, too!

I cannot recommend this company enough. They are so personable and easy to work with!! They have a gorgeous collection of dresses, tops, skirts and super cute swimwear at affordable prices! Be sure to check out their footwear, too! My personal favourite are the Monaco Ankle Booties!

Jockey P2P Clothing with Christine...a review!

Have you ever wanted fashion at your fingertips? Recently, I was introduced to the Jockey Person to Person brand by a lovely mompreneur from London, Ontario - Christine. She is the sweetest and most bubbly person I have ever met, and after chatting for a few hours about the amazing brand behind Jockey, I had a look through the catalog and was absolutely amazed.

Lush, bold colours
Flattering styles
Comfort like I've never experienced before

Working with Christine was incredible. She not only took the time to answer all of my questions, but she also answered ones that I didn't even know that I had, but more on that in a review for another time!

The Fall 2012 catalog {select items on sale now!} is just gorgeous. From jackets and the most flattering jeans you will ever wear, to ruffled cardigans and dolman sweaters, Jockey P2P literally has something for everyone, and even has new plus sizes!

When looking for a pop of colour to pair with a simple white tank and a pair of skinny jeans, the sapphire blue ruffle cardigan was my pick. Belted or not, it was flattering and super comfortable. I foresee many afternoons cuddled up in a chair with a cup of tea in this sweater - it's just that  comfortable.

I received so many compliments on the sweater at dinner and felt beautiful and confident the entire time that I was wearing it. The bold sapphire blue was the perfect colour for me, and the cut and line of the ruffled down the front was perfect.

Contact Christine today about getting 60% off select styles! londonjockey@rogers.com

Stay tuned for a review of the uncut {bootcut leg} cords - simply the softest and most booty-flattering pants I have ever worn!

*Disclaimer: I was provided the ruffle cardigan by Christine for the purposes of doing this promotional review. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

BlogHer Sponsor Love: Kristine Cook Designs

One of the first things that popped into my head when I was planning this big adventure to BlogHer was

How do I want to present myself?

I started looking at my wardrobe, which has a lot of black, white, grey and navy…lots of stripes…scarves…dark skinny jeans but really no amazing statement pieces that set me apart and reflect who I am as an artist.

Off to Etsy I went, and I stumbled across Kristine Cook Designs.

I have now had the pleasure of meeting with Kristine, collaborating with her and having her design some really amazing pieces that I will be able to feature at BlogHer.

I knew that I wanted a jacket that I could wear, in a great colour for summer, with a white tee and dark jeans. I told Kristine that I love ruffles, rosettes and girly details…but that I love a masculine edge with things being fitted and tailored.

Isn’t this concept amazing??

I am thrilled!! It’s an amazing coral colour, which suits this brunette just fine, and has the most intricate almost origami detailing around the collar.

And ¾ sleeves? Perfect for spring and summer, and for layering! A white tee to keep it simple…or a bold graphic print in navy and white…or even a pastel tank and pencil skirt…with fabulous heels of course!

The lining is going to be a really awesome pinstripe fabric, and I am just...squeeing inside about it! Kristine took my Pinterest boards, what little she new about me from my photos on Facebook and my Etsy shop and ran with it. She totally got me, and designed for me. How special is that!?

It’s the most beautiful jacket I’ve laid eyes on, and definitely will set me apart, reflect myself as an artist, and is a piece that I can wear over and over again, yet make look so different depending on the other pieces that I pair it with!

Special Post: Stella McCartney and Matches Fashion

As spring starts to poke its lovely face through the barely snow covered grounds, I find myself in need of a wardrobe change. Each season, I try to get a few key pieces that I know I can wear with jeans as well as dress pants, pencil skirts and things of the sort of get the most out of some really inspired, quality designs.

Today, I am finding that in the Stella McCartney collection at Matches Fashion. The bold pops of yellow and blue are paired perfectly with white, grey and black – just absolutely stunning and perfect for spring!

A few favourites that I would like to point your ever keen eye to…

I was immediately drawn to the Michelle jacket. The amazing pop of yellow was just stunning to see, and I could definitely see it paired with a simple white tee, grey skinny jeans and a pair of grey or nude pumps. Perfect for a luncheon out with the girls, or for an after business event. So unexpected, and yet so perfect!

The Stella McCartney collection at Matches Fashion isn’t all about punches of colour on clothing. Don’t underestimate the impact that an accessory can have in your wardrobe! Sometimes, all you need is the perfect handbag or pair of shoes to update for the season ahead!

I personally am in love with the Falabella bucket bag. First and foremost, it is orange and considering that I already have a lot of dark denim and cream tops, it would go perfectly with a lot of what I already have. I look at it as a wise investment for a piece that I will love for many years to come. It’s simply stunning, and roomy too! It would be perfect for a day shopping, as a travel carryon...really, it is perfect for everyday!

Within the Stella McCartney collection, you’ll find whimsical pieces that catch your eye more than once. I’ve looked at the same pieces (for example, the Gwen dress) over and over, and see a captivating new beauty every time I look at it.

The collection is simply breathtaking!

Sponsor Love: Wedding Accessories by Jacques Vert

Which wedding accessories do you choose for your wedding?

If you are planning to attend a wedding or perhaps you are getting married yourself, it isn’t always easy to find perfect wedding outfits because of the wide range of choice. On top of that are the accessories that are of importance as well. If you are unsure of which accessories to wear with your wedding outfit or when going to a formal lunch event, then it might be worthwhile for you to read this post. I have lined up some accessories that I believe would make a great addition to any occasion wear outfit.

Jewellery

When deciding upon what type of jewellery to choose, I’d recommend opting for less chunky jewellery such as this elegant fine black enamel and marcasite effect pendant necklace. The necklace is set on a silver colour chai with little ball beads and would look great with any wedding outfit.

Fascinators

For those who have never heard of this term, a fascinator is a fashionable headpiece that is often worn on special occasions. Fascinators come in various styles and are created by colourful feathers, flowers and other sorts of fabrics.

Often, these fascinators can be worn in two different ways. There are fascinators with combs attached to them which you have to stick in your hair in the opposite direction, ensuring the hairs are woven between the teeth of the comb. The other, more common, form is the headband fascinator which can simply be placed on top of the hair.

Purses

Finding the right purse to go with your outfit can often be a tricky task because you have to ensure that all your belongings fit in the bag (and we’ve got many things we put in our purses) whilst at the same time making sure that the colour is right.

This purse is an elegant fondant pink fabric clutch styled bag, with a curving flat to the front and satin draped twist detail to finish. You can combine this purse with a crème or black dress, or a similar colours dress.
